Professional Bio
Stan Slachetka, FAICP, PP, is a licensed professional planner in New Jersey and member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He also is a member of the Board of Planning Advisors to the New Jersey Planning Officials. His areas of expertise include redevelopment, resiliency planning, affordable housing, and community visioning. He has managed and prepared numerous award-winning planning projects including master plans, vision plans, redevelopment plans, affordable housing plans, transit-oriented plans, as well as zoning ordinances and form-based codes. He is a recognized expert in redevelopment planning and co-author of The Redevelopment Handbook: A Guide to Rebuilding New Jersey’s Communities, published jointly by the NJ Department of Community Affairs and APA NJ. He is a former Chief of Housing Services and Principal Planner for the NJ Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) and has prepared COAH and Court-approved housing elements and fair share plans. Mr. Slachetka received a Master of City and Regional Planning from Rutgers’ Graduate School – New Brunswick (now the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy) and was a Graduate Fellow of the Eagleton Institute of Politics. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Rutgers’ University College – New Brunswick.
