New Jersey’s planning and zoning boards have an important role in helping
communities minimize climate change impacts and plan for a resilient future.
The New Jersey Climate Change Resource Center at Rutgers University, in
partnership with New Jersey Planning Officials and the NJ Department of
Environmental Protection, have developed a video series to help planning
and zoning board members understand how climate change affects their
responsibilities and begin to take action.

Join us on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 12 PM for a virtual “watch party” for
the first video, “Climate Change for Planning and Zoning Boards.”
The video is a primer on climate change impacts in NJ and the new
requirement for a Climate Change-Related Hazard Vulnerability Assessment
(CCRHVA) as part of the master planning process, including what is required
in a CCRHVA and how it affects planning and zoning board decisions.
